Bell call forwarding: send your line to Gala

Bell's codes and steps for Home phone, business lines, Bell Total Connect and Bell Mobility.

Bell offers forwarding on every line, but the codes and fees differ. Find your line type below.

Before you start

Have the Gala number shown in your setup at hand. That is the number your calls will go to.
Choose: all calls, or only the calls nobody answers. The main guide explains the difference.
Keep the cancel code. It puts your line back the way it was in seconds.

All calls or only missed calls

Bell Home phone

Dial *72 Or 1172 on a rotary phone. Wait for three beeps, then the dial tone.
Dial your Gala number Add a 1 in front if the number is long distance.
Stay on the line Gala answers the confirmation call. Stay on the line for at least five seconds, as the provider asks.
To cancel Dial *73 (or 1173). Two beeps confirm it is off.

If nobody answers, Bell says to wait three seconds, hang up and repeat the steps once.

Bell publishes no busy or no-answer forwarding code for Home phone. Ask Bell if you need it.

Bell says busy forwarding is available with Local Link without voicemail, or with optional programmable voicemail.

Bell Total Connect, Bell's cloud phone system, takes the same codes. To forward everything, dial *72, the number, then the pound key (#).

Bell Mobility

Bell gives no code for mobile. Forwarding is set in the phone's Call Settings menu, under Call Forwarding.

You can forward all calls or only the calls you don't answer. A free text message confirms the forward.

What Bell charges

Home phone: forwarding is included in Home phone Choice, up to 8 features, or costs $8.95 a month à la carte.
Long distance: forwarding to a number outside your calling area adds long distance fees.
Bell Mobility: a monthly fee, or $0.25 a minute pay-per-use. Long distance is billed on top.
Business lines: Bell does not publish the price on its support page. Your Bell representative can confirm it.

Test the forward

Call your number Use a different phone, such as a personal cell.
Listen for the answer Gala should answer with your business greeting.
Check the summary The test call should show up in your Gala dashboard.
