TELUS codes change by province. Here are the Québec codes and the British Columbia and Alberta codes, for each line type.

TELUS shows different codes by region. In Québec the pound key comes after the digits: 72#. In the West the star comes first: *72.

Before you start

Have the Gala number shown in your setup at hand. That is the number your calls will go to.
Choose: all calls, or only the calls nobody answers. The main guide explains the difference.
Keep the cancel code. It puts your line back the way it was in seconds.

Dial the code 72# in Québec. *72 or #72 in British Columbia and Alberta. Wait for three beeps.
Dial your Gala number Gala answers. An intermittent dial tone confirms the forward.
If busy or no answer Hang up and try again. In the West, TELUS says to wait two minutes.
To cancel 73# in Québec. *73 or #73 in the West. Two beeps confirm.

TELUS busy (*90) and no-answer (*92) forwarding go to a number TELUS programs. Call TELUS to set it to your Gala number.

Calls can only be forwarded to North American numbers. Forwarding is not available on prepaid accounts.

What TELUS charges

Home phone in Québec: call forwarding is one of the features you can pick in a bundle, up to 7 features.
Long distance: it applies if the destination number is long distance.
Mobile: the Call Forwarding North America feature includes 3,000 minutes a month, then 75¢ a minute. Without it, forwarding is billed pay-per-use.
Business mobile: long distance applies outside your service area, even if your plan includes long distance.
