Vidéotron call forwarding: send your line to Gala

Vidéotron's codes and steps for home phone, Vidéotron Affaires business lines and mobile.

At Vidéotron, call forwarding needs a subscription to the add-on. The steps depend on your line type.

Before you start

Have the Gala number shown in your setup at hand. That is the number your calls will go to.
Choose: all calls, or only the calls nobody answers. The main guide explains the difference.
Keep the cancel code. It puts your line back the way it was in seconds.

Pick up and dial *72 Then dial your Gala number.
Stay on the line Gala answers. Stay on the line about five seconds, until you hear two beeps.
If nobody answers Hang up and repeat the first two steps. This forces the forward.
To cancel Dial *73. Two beeps confirm it is off.

To check that forwarding is on, dial *72. A fast tone, like a busy line, confirms it.

The destination has to be a number in North America.

Vidéotron Affaires business lines

To change the number of rings, dial *94 followed by a digit from 0 to 9.

Vidéotron's page does not explain how to set the destination for *90 and *92. Ask Vidéotron Affaires to point them to your Gala number.

While all calls are forwarded, the line takes no calls and no voicemail. The destination cannot be international.

Vidéotron mobile

Vidéotron gives no code. On iPhone: Settings, Apps, Phone, then Call Forwarding.

On Android: Phone, Settings, Supplementary services or Calls, Call forwarding, then Always forward.

The phone and SIM card must support VoLTE. Calls can only be forwarded to a number in Canada or the United States.

What Vidéotron charges

Home phone: $6.00 a month for the add-on alone, free with a Plus bundle.
Vidéotron Affaires: included with the Ligne Affaires Optimale, otherwise $8.00 a month for the add-on alone.
Mobile: without the option, each forwarded call costs $0.75 a minute. Long distance fees may apply on top.

Test the forward

Call your number Use a different phone, such as a personal cell.
Listen for the answer Gala should answer with your business greeting.
Check the summary The test call should show up in your Gala dashboard.
