Rogers call forwarding: send your line to Gala

Rogers codes and steps for Home Phone, Shaw Home Phone, wireless and Rogers Business Phone.

Rogers offers all-calls, busy and no-answer forwarding. One detail matters: Rogers voicemail blocks the conditional forwards.

Before you start

Have the Gala number shown in your setup at hand. That is the number your calls will go to.
Choose: all calls, or only the calls nobody answers. The main guide explains the difference.
Keep the cancel code. It puts your line back the way it was in seconds.

Rogers Home Phone

Dial *72 Then your 10-digit Gala number. Add a 1 in front if it is long distance.
Stay on the line Gala answers. Stay on the line at least five seconds, or forwarding won't turn on.
If busy or no answer Dial *72 again, then the number. Two beeps confirm.
To cancel Dial *73, wait for two beeps and hang up.

If you subscribe to Rogers voicemail, *90 and *92 only set your voicemail. You have to drop voicemail to forward to a number.

Shaw Home Phone (Rogers with Shaw)

Dial *72 and wait for a stuttered tone. Dial your Gala number, then let Gala answer to confirm.

Rogers says conditional forwarding does not work while voicemail is active.

Rogers Business Phone

Forwarding rules are created in the Features Management portal: unconditional, busy, no answer after 30 seconds, or selective.

Forwarding is off by default. Once the rule exists, *741 turns it on or off from the phone.

What Rogers charges

Long distance: the usual charges apply if the forwarded call is answered.
Destinations: Canadian and US numbers only, and one forwarded call at a time.
Shaw Home Phone: long distance forwarding is capped at 500 minutes a month.
Rogers does not publish the feature's price on its support pages. Check your plan.

Test the forward

Call your number Use a different phone, such as a personal cell.
Listen for the answer Gala should answer with your business greeting.
Check the summary The test call should show up in your Gala dashboard.
